The in-app reset timer settles which one you've hit: open Settings > Usage, where Pro plans now show a fixed weekly reset time assigned to your account. Consistently reaching the wall earlier than you did a month ago on the same plan points to a tightened cap; a wall that bites only after an unusually long agentic run is your context length doing the work. Remedies scale with effort — start fresh threads for unrelated tasks instead of carrying one long conversation, break big jobs across separate five-hour windows so no single session drains the weekly budget, and save the heaviest agentic runs for when you have headroom. When the ceiling becomes a daily obstacle rather than an occasional one, the API is the structural fix: it bills per token, so you pay for exactly what you use instead of losing access when a window is spent. One caveat before assuming your allowance shrank — the May 2026 doubling of five-hour limits gave Pro and Max users more room than the older figures suggest, so check current numbers first.
